GUIDE
The residential blocks will contain a total of 16,000 studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments.
The concept of Azizi Riviera is borrowed from the French Riviera. The buildings and spaces around them have been designed to emulate Mediterranean contemporary living. The open spaces and public areas offer ‘several conveniences’, while the clean lines and modern glass and wood facades combine to remind you that this is not really France.
The apartments will range from studios to one- and two-bedroom layouts, and there will also be a retail district and two hotels.
Azizi Riviera is accessible via Business Bay, Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road and Meydan Road, and in reach of various malls, cinemas, retail, schools and hospitals. The Meydan Hotel and Racecourse is just five minutes away, as will be the proposed One Mall and marina.
Meydan One is a major development of 71 buildings to be constructed in four phases. Its 13 regions will include a huge integrated retail district, luxury four- and five-star hotels and green open spaces.
The district promises ‘long walks on paved paths just a short distance from water transport, yachting facilities and a proposed marina’.
In July 2021 the developer announced that the canal, as depicted in the original masterplan, has been scrapped in favor of a 2.7km crystal lagoon with 51.5m gallons of desalinated clean water that residents can swim in.
The canal was originally depicted as being connected the the Dubai Creek via the Business Bay canal and there would have been a marina. Instead, the lagoon will have beach-like shores and will be encompassed by a walkway with a variety of boutiques and eateries.
